Rediscover Love at a Wedding Expo

There is nothing like a wedding expo to remind anyone of the reason why they got married in the first place. These exhibitions and events are a celebration of love and rediscovery - making each and every couple (or would be couple) that go to be re inspired and moved to perhaps make that decision.

These events can be a tear jerker but they are also a sight to behold. They spare no effort in the decorations, flowers decorate the halls with splendour and add colour and life to the event. There are many wedding expos in Singapore and usually, they are held towards the end of the year, where the national calendar of the collective society of Singapore suddenly gets filled with weddings and solemnization ceremonies. Wedding expo's give these couples the nudge in the right direction as well, just another reason why they should tie the bonds of matrimony and say the words that would last a lifetime.

Every aspect of the ceremony is addressed at the exhibitions. First and fore most is the photography - a wedding is not complete with a set of beautiful photographs to immortalise the event and the feelings the couple have for each other. Photography has become more and more intricate of late and couples have been demanding almost cinematographic shots - complete with daring ensembles. Apple has also had a part to play, judging by the wedding expos that I have been to - more and more couples are using the added advantage of digital enhancement to add that level of fantasy to their photos. Then there is the question of the wedding dress and wedding suit. Not only do they have to match, but if you have been to a wedding of late, you will realise that that the bride and groom do change into more than just one pair of matching wedding clothes.

Sometimes, this can reach as many as 3 or even 4 sets, depending on the tastes of the bride and groom. They can be a mix and match of traditional wear, cocktail dress inspired collections, contemporary, avant garde, renaissance, Italian - with materials that span from silk, cotton, saffron, satin - any and all. There are also more exotic possibilities for the more daring couples, with Goth inspired wedding dresses, or different coloured ones. Traditional ethnic wedding gowns are also making a come back but with a twist. Dress and suit makers are making hybrid gowns with a touch of contemporary design flushed with traditional elements - or the other way around.

We are no longer limited by old ideas and something fresh is always welcome to the table. There is something for everyone. Wedding expos are a journey of discovery -of not only love, but the many ways it can be expressed. No longer are people limited to the traditional church or ethnic wedding, couples keep wanting more and more. I encourage you to visit a wedding expo at a location near you and knowing Singapore and the time of year, there will be plenty around. Rediscover love, rekindle the magic or make the all important decision.
