A wedding theme needs to say a lot of different things about a couple. Firstly both of the couples need to like the theme, but deciding upon what it should be can be very difficult. Sometimes a couple may want their theme to be something like a feeling, love for example. For these themes to work the flowers and decorations of a wedding need to match colours associated with the theme, but finding the colours which are just right can be a bit difficult.
Certain couples go for something they both enjoy doing as a theme, for example playing video games, or video games on their own. In this case a wedding could have video game themed decorations and banners of different characters, with even a wedding cake which is made to look like a games console with controllers. Wedding favours can be small video game novelties such as controller shaped key rings, and the best man can wear controller cuff links to bring the theme to every part of the wedding.
Some couples like to go one step further, and make a specific game their wedding theme. A game such as final fantasy for example can give guests at a wedding a whole host of characters to choose to be. Dressing up as one of these characters is a feat in itself, but many people have all of their friends dressed up as different games characters, the wedding photos of which make the front covers of games magazines everywhere. Weddings like these are always done by groups of friends who are very close, and the bride and groom always have the best costumes, making them look amazing on their big day.
If a couple isn't sure about the theme they want for their wedding they can create their own by thinking about what they both like. If they want a simple theme then they can choose colours together which they both like and complement each other. If a theme needs to be a bit more than a set of colours then a couple could think of something that says a lot about their relationship and set it as the theme, going as far as they want with how much it features in the decorations and even costumes that people need to wear. If a couple both like a certain kind of flower then the theme could be of that flower, and there could be a wide range of colours used in the theme to get across the beauty of that particular species, even in people's clothes.
